Terrain Studies is an ongoing large collection of small works that began a decade ago in 2016. Spanning time, this indexical body of work documents specific places and times of my experimental studio work involving natural pigments. I let some go and others need to stay in the studio as reference for new work.
Common factors include the juxtaposition of diverse, rich, natural surfaces, an inner existence, land-made materials, unconventional, inventive process, focus on depth of space and, accumulation and void. This is only a sampling.
