My multi-disciplinary works are the by-product of a deep engagement with nature and its particle-laden material matter. Through the procurement and uncommon employ of inorganic and organic pigments and the manipulation of natural-fibered substrates, I focus on notions of human-environment connectivity, their shared strengths and vulnerabilities, impermanence and void.

The work transforms over long periods of time through a combination of fieldwork and ritualistic, experimental, alchemic processes. Establishing a visceral sense of personal belonging with unfamiliar territory (both in and out of the studio) informs the work’s layered intimacy. My work and provides a communal exchange between the collective and individual human experience.

While embodying personal, spiritual, philosophical and environmental notions, the work ultimately materializes as a perceptual object: an emotive surrogate for language.

I am as much an Alchemist, explorer, and researcher as Artist.

Sustaining a non-toxic studio practice, expanding methods and materials that have existed in ancient cultures for thousands of years, derived from the environment itself, is my cathartic place to manifest communication and hope for a renewed future that values the importance of mindfulness, well-being, climate and earth care.
